Mentor vs hero

"My dad is my hero!" or "My fiancé is my true hero" kind of phrases we hear a lot. These people time to time fails to continue their connections due to false anticipations. Concept of 'hero' is based on unknown and distance. Your hero never is aware of your existence. Insomuch that you never know her true identity. Fair enough she never exposes that (Like Spider-Women). These are conditions of being a hero.
