What you sell?

Recently I had a heated discussion with my colleague about sorting products by customers purchase patterns. She was arguing that "need" for purchase cannot be different from "want" for purchase. Which I'm often at variance. How come?
Well... What we need can be easily exemplify like an air, water, security, health, sex etc. These are things what we need and pretty much everything else is a want. Such as iPhoneX, Netflix membership, Starbucks "Caramel Macchiato" etc.
Please know what you sell. Determine. Is your product a need or a want?
